Questions & Answers

For Ge Control Board Assembly (Part Number: OEM13090944)

Jon, if the condenser fan near the compressor is operating when the temperatures are rising, the compressor should be operating as well. If the compressor is not operating in this circumstance, the failure could be in the main control WR55X10832, start relay WR07X10131, or the compressor WR87X20798. If there is 120VAC being sent to the start relay after the temperatures have risen 7° above the set temperature and the condenser fan is operating, then the start relay has more than likely failed (commonly a click from the overload will occur). If there is not 120VAC and the condenser fan is running, then the main control has failed. By isolating whether the main control is or is not sending voltage, and if the relay is good, the compressor can be identified as being operational or not.

Richard, the user interface control will display both the set temp and the current temp. When it is switching to 63, it is displaying the current temperature that the unit senses each section is at.

Stanley, This issue would not require a part. This issue is caused by a clogged defrost drain. The reason that the refrigerator is not working is because the return air duct for the refrigerator is behind the evaporator and the ice build up in the defrost drain trough is clogging the air duct. You will want to clear out the drain trough and flush the drain tube. Once clear you will need to get the air duct unclogged. The only way to do this would be to try to thaw using hot water or empty the unit out and let it thaw with the doors open.

Hello Uncle Ernie, You should change the defrost thermostat WR50X10068 since it sounds like it may be sticking, (not always opening at the proper temperature).
