David for Model Number PP945bmbb GE Profile Cooktop

Purchased the control board to replace an old one that failed - power to the board but nothing to the cooktop. after accessing the board, I noticed the wiring travels up in the the body of the cooktop. To connect the leads from the control board, it looks like I need to remove the body from the glass top so to make the connections that are beyond the round access port where the wires travel. Do you have a video showing the body removal from the glass to see/make the wire connections from the control board. Your sells person indicated that I would not have to remove the glass to make the control board connections, but this not seem to be correct.

David, the following link will have a repair video available that can be used as a reference for removing the glass top from the body. https://www.appliancepartspros.com/ge-element-haliant-1200w-wb30t10043-ap2027785.html#autoplay

Hi Tony. Yes this is a very doable repair. Make sure you turn the breaker off. Then the control board is at the bottom of the unit. You will need to access the wiring diagram in w/ the electrical junction box cover or in a folded packet in the same area. You need to mark all the wire connections down before starting so you can connect them correctly. I find the use of a cell phone picture assure review if needed. Then make sure that you ground yourself out by touching the bare metal ground a few times so you are not allowing ^30,000vac static to ruin the new board part # WB23T10024. Try to only handle the new board by the corners. Just use needle nose pliers and a pick tool to lift the center locking tab from any electrical connection. They will self lock onto the new terminal when pressed on. Make sure no wires are pinched (shorted) upon reassembly. Thank You.
