The Bottom Oven and Deflector Assembly is an OEM part for GE ranges. This assembly features both the bottom oven cavity and heat shield deflector above it. It allows for simultaneous cooking on two racks while protecting cabinets from excessive heat.

The deflector assembly works to direct warm air out from the bottom oven opening. It distributes heat evenly and prevents issues caused by concentrated airflow. Over time, cooking residue buildup may occur on these parts or cracks could form due to repeated heating.

Symptoms of a bad bottom oven and deflector assembly include:

  • Excessive cabinet warming from bottom oven use
  • Uneven cooking results within the bottom oven cavity
  • Difficult air circulation or hot spots occurring

This authentic GE replacement restores like-new cooking performance. Featuring durable manufacturing and a premium fit, it maintains oven functionality for more efficient meal preparation.

Questions & Answers

For Ge Bottom Oven And Deflector Asm (Part Number: OEM20984316)

Hello Greg, Remove the two screws in the rear and slip your fingers into the vent holes. You will lift the rear of the panel and slide the bottom panel to the rear since it is hooked under the front frame. Once you have slid it back far enough, the entire panel will lift out. For this reason, reinstalling is in the exact reverse order. The panel is slipped into the bake compartment at about a 45° angle, (front down), and slip the front of the panel under the lip in the front of the bake compartment. Once in place, slip it forward so the rear of the panel can be slipped down into position. As a note, if the holes do not line up the panel can be slipped back a bit to line them up. A flashlight is valuable in this instance.
