The Broil Element is an OEM part for GE ovens. This element is located at the top of the oven and is crucial for the broiling function, providing high heat for cooking dishes such as meats and vegetables directly under the heat source. The broil element glows red hot when in use, creating the necessary temperature to sear food and lock in flavors.

Symptoms of a failing Broil Element include:

  • The element not heating up when the broil setting is activated
  • Uneven cooking or lack of browning on food intended to be broiled
  • Visible damage to the element, such as blistering, bubbling, or breaks in the element coil
  • No visible glow from the element during operation

Causes of a bad broil element often involve burnout from regular use, electrical issues such as faulty wiring or a malfunctioning thermostat that doesn't cycle the heat correctly.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
