Kathy, If you have an "in line" water filter on the water supply line, check and make sure it doesn't need replacement. Then start at the water inlet valve WR57X88 / WR57X88, the valve has a debris screen that can clog with sediment and debris from the minerals, etc. in the water.

Hello Bobby, If your model number is actually TFX20JRBCWH, You should first make sure the auger hub is not stripped and that there is no ice chip accumulation in the bottom of the ice bin. The manufacturer recommends to clear the ice particles from the bottom of the ice bin at least once a month, more often if necessary. If the issue is within the ice bin assembly, the bucket and auger assembly is WR17X4310 and does not include the front cover and ice storage door WR17X10339.

Graham W for Model Number TFX24R

I have an older model GE refrigerator/freezer (Model #TFX24R) with "through the door" ice dispenser. For several years now it has only dispensed crushed ice even though the selection switch is positioned for cubed ice. The unit dispenses crushed ice and water perfectly but no cubes. I think that at some point several years ago I mentioned this to a technician and he suggested it was likely a faulty solenoid but I never had it repaired. Does this sound like the problem? Is it a relatively easy fix? Can you please give me a part number if you think this is the problem? Do you think that someone with an average amount of technical skill can repair it and is there a link I can access to get step by step instructions? I submitted an earlier question about this same appliance regarding the auger in the ice bucket but forgot to ask this one, too. Thanks!

Graham, To replace the solenoid you will need to remove the ice bin. Remove the auger motor housing and the solenoid will be on the back. Remove 2 screws and pull out the old solenoid and install the new one. The part number for the solenoid is WR62X23154.
