Kyle January 08, 2016 My dryer is heating up to a point but then is not heating up to were it should be would the coils be the problem or is it something else?
1 Answer Hello Kyle. You will need to check for a vent issue first. If the vent is good, then go to the thermostats. Last would be the coils on the unit. Read More...
Andrew June 25, 2014 for Model Number NVL333GY0WW My gas dryer turns on and ignites the first and second heat cycle. It continues to run without heat and the timer doesn't move, and it's a new timer. The gas coils while cold read the correct ohms. Is the heat sensor probably bad? If so why would it effect the timer?
1 Answer Hello Andrew, If the problem only exists on an automatic dry cycle, the issue is an air flow restriction in the home ducting. If it does this on timed dry also, the issue is most likely a harness issue. Read More...
Andrew May 03, 2013 for Model Number DVLR223GG7WW Hi there, My dryer tumbles but does not heat at all, is this the coils not working or the igniter assembly? Is there a way to check? I do not want to purchase both parts if it is just one. Could it be any other parts causing the problem? Thank you!
1 Answer Hello Andrew. You will need to test the thermostats and the flame sensor and make sure they are good. They should read closed for continuity. Also, check the igniter and make sure it is getting hot enough to light the gas. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter for the testing procedures. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Lynn January 15, 2013 for Model Number dsxh43gaoww Dyer burner comes on when first started but will not come back on to add more heat. is it the coils or something else? how to I check?
1 Answer Lynn, Being a gas dryer, and based on your description, it's most likely the gas valve coils 5303931775. The best way to check a coil is to allow the dryer to run and heat for 15 to 20 minutes, remove power to the dryer and remove the wiring harness to the coils. The two terminal coil should have a reading of 1000 to 1500 ohms resistance, the three terminal coild should have 1300 to 1400 ohms across pin 1 and pin 2 and 500 to 600ohms resistance from pin 1 to pin 3, using a multi meter. You'll need to be careful, things in that area will be hot, and some edges may be sharp. Read More...
