IS IT DOOR LATCH OR MAIN CONTROL BOARD PROBLEM PLEASE HELP
1 Answer Paul, It would be recommended to check the main control board. There will be an LED flashing that will tell you if there is an error. The amount of times flashing will tell you the error which you can check against the tech sheet to find out what it represents. Read More...
Mark January 05, 2023 for Model Number CDT835SSJ2SS I am getting the door open error on this dishwasher with the flashing yellow light on the door and three beeps. I have replaced the door latch assembly to no avail. I also purchased a reconditioned control board from another vendor and installed that also to no avail and getting the same error. I considered the possibility that the reconditioned board was also defective, but on my original and the reconditioned one I got no fault codes at all when holding down the Start and Select Cycle buttons. Other people got a code 815 for the door open problem. Do you have any other ideas for what I can try? I really don't want to buy a new board that I cannot return if it doesn't work.
1 Answer Mark, if the door is leveled and closing properly, the door latch would need to be tested from the main control after turning the power supply to the appliance off. From the control connection J711, the tan wire at pin 3 would need to be tested for continuity to the violet wire at pin 4, then from the wire at pin 3 to the white wire at pin 5 while the door is closed. If there is continuity on both sets, the machine control is faulty. If there is not continuity, the door latch would need to be tested directly while the door is closed. From the wired terminal at pin 1, there should be continuity to the violet wired terminal at pin 2 as well as from the tan wired terminal at pin 1 to the white wired terminal at pin 3. If there is continuity at the latch but not when testing from the control, the AC wire harness WD21X24096 would be the cause of failure. Read More...
