John July 23, 2011 for Model Number WHDSR316G1WW Knob just spins around. I took it off and noticed that the fins on the back our very small in width, like they could be worn down. I can't tell from picture if this is actually the case. The fins are way less than 1/32. Is this what they are suppposed to look like?

Dave March 26, 2011 for Model Number wbsr3140G2WW Control knob (part #8 in the diagram) won't turn part #7, the dial. We have to turn the dial by hand, and then pull #8 to start the cycle. Do I need to replace the knob and/or the clip? Thanks!
1 Answer Hello Dave. If the clip is not broken, then the knob will be all you will need to replace. Hope this helps. Read More...

Guest February 20, 2011 GE Washer whdsr316goww. Trying to remove timer knob. Do not see plastic clip. Appears to have metal spring clip. Have control panel open but cannot remove timer knob. Have the metal clip slid off knob towards the timer but still cannot remove knob. How can we remove this knob so it can be replaced?
1 Answer Hello, according to the diagram provided you will see there is a small plastic clip WH1X2117 that is holding the knob on. The knob is held on with a plastic clip behind it. Use needle nose pliers to get the clip off, the knob will then come off, put the new on one, put the clip back on and you are all set. Here is a link to the parts diagram: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5230173, refer to clip #9. Hope this helps! Read More...
