Dan W October 26, 2012 for Model Number 362.75585891 I have a Kenmore gas range model # 362.75585891. I'm having issues with my oven temperature control, I can turn the oven on by adjusting the dial, but I'm unable to get it higher that 290 deg.farenheit. It does not seam to matter if I set the dial to 300, 350, 400, 450, 500 the highest it will go is 290.I'm also unable to turn on the broiler. Back when this problem started I was able to mess with the oven dial control and if I held it just right it would show the proper temperature or ignite the broiler. My thoughts are that the mechanism for the oven temperature control dial has worn out and I need a whole new clock/control panel. Please provide any suggestions. I think this is the part I need to replace 183D6012P002 with a new WB27K10142. Are there any wiring problems when replacing with the new model, my original control had 4 cables connected? Any additional part I would need to order besides WB27K10142? Thanks.
1 Answer Dan, First thing, check and make sure the ERC/Clock has not accidentally been programmed to "Celsius". Then check the resistance of the oven temp. sensor WB21X5301 It should have a resistance of 1050 to 1100 ohms resistance at room temp. and 1350 to 1450 ohms at 212 dgrs. F. (boiling water) If the resistance is correct, then replace the ERC/Clock WB27K10142 Read More...
