For Ge Cover Evap Asm Ff (Part Number: OEM13089876)

Daniel for Model Number PSCS5RGXAFSS

The fresh food section of my GE PSCS5RGXAFSS fluctuates in temperature 10 degrees constantly. When the freezer side is set to 0 and the fresh food side set to 37 the unit will cool to 37, then go up to 47, then back down. It does this over and over. The unit initially had a problem with the freezer coils becoming frosted over, so I replaced the WR51X10055 Defroster heater along with WR55X10025 temp sensors on both frozen and fresh food side which solved the problem. A couple months later the fresh side temp fluctuation began. Since then I have replaced as follows. WR17X12490 - Fresh food fan unit WR50X10065 - Defrost Thermostat WR55X10956 - Main Board The fan on the fresh food side constantly spins and never turns off, which I didn't think it used to do, but maybe I just noticed it. Any advice and diagnostic help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Daniel, You will want to recheck the sensors on your unit to make sure that there are no loose connections which would be a possible cause for this issue. The only other possibility would be a issue with the board received.

The coils in the food section keep getting covered ice making the food section start warming up after about three weeks. Then I have to defrost the ice and then the fridge cools normally for about three weeks. Then I have to repeat the process again. I replaced the defrost heater and temperature sensors. The freezer always cools normally. What causes this? Can you tell me what part or parts might fix this annoying problem? Thank you. DavidFlagg

David, With the coils frosting up and having already replaced the heater and thermistor, the issue with the unit would be in the control board WR55X10956.

Hello Jake! I do apologize for the confusion, yes, the evaporator fan is included with the fresh food cover part number WR17X12490. We've corrected the previous Q&A to reference this information as well. Thank you.
