Al February 12, 2013 for Model Number Emerson Garbage Disposal Model E 80 I7 This is an older model and I need the splash guard, it is approximately 3" in dia. Will a GE model splash guard fit? What is involved in changing the splash guard?
1 Answer Al, Yes, the Splash Guard WC11X20163 will fit in your disposal. It'll be a tight fit, but will work. To remove the existing guard, you only need to CAREFULLY reach inside of the opening, grasp the under side of the guard, and pull up and out. To install the new guard, coat the outside edge of the guard with detergent, align the guard in the opening and push it down, evenly, until the guard reaches the flange ring and seats solidly.
