This diverter assembly kit controls the dishwasher's wash-water routing. It switches flow between spray arms for targeted cleaning. Replacing a failed diverter restores proper water distribution and helps recover normal wash performance.

  • Directs wash water between lower and upper/middle spray arms as the cycle advances
  • Works with the control to provide zone/alternating spray for efficient cleaning
  • Failure can cause poor cleaning on one rack or water spraying from only one arm
  • May produce repeated clicking/grinding from the sump area or extended cycles while indexing
What's included: One diverter assembly kit. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and shut off water supply before servicing; expect some residual water
  • Access the diverter at the sump/pump area; follow your model's service procedures
  • Ensure seals/O-rings are properly seated and parts are aligned before tightening
  • Run a short test cycle to check for leaks and confirm both racks receive spray

For Ge Dishwasher Diverter Assembly (Kit) (Part Number: OEM17015136)

Brian, with the unit unplugged, the circulation motor circuit will need to be tested from the main control. At connection J703, pin 2 (yellow & black wire) to pin 3 (brown & red wire) for continuity. If there is not continuity, then the brown and red wire will need to be tested for continuity from the main control to the motor connection. If there is not continuity at this point, then an inline fuse has failed. Unfortunately, the manufacturer lists the wiring harness only as part of the motor kit WD49X23778. If this all checks good, then the main control WD21X22276 will need to be tested for outgoing voltage (using the same test points for the motor circuit) to ensure that the motor is receiving voltage. Another thing to check would be the incoming water level to ensure that the motor has enough water to use to be able to produce the pressure necessary.
