The Faucet Adapter is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. This adapter connects the dishwasher’s water supply hose to a standard kitchen faucet, allowing the dishwasher to draw water for the wash cycles.

Causes of a bad faucet adapter can include regular wear and tear, damage from frequent attachment and detachment, or cracks and leaks from improper handling.

Symptoms of a bad faucet adapter include:

  • Water leaking from the connection point
  • Difficulty attaching the adapter to the faucet
  • Reduced water flow to the dishwasher
  • The dishwasher not filling with water properly

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

John for Model Number GPT225SGL/SSL

I have a GE Portable Dishwasher. I use a Pur water filter that attaches to the faucet. For the first few months I have been unscrewing the aerator that the Pur filter needs to attach to and putting the dishwasher adapter on when I run the dishwasher. Though somewhat tedious it worked with no problem. Now there is a leak and I can't figure out where, but when I attach the dishwasher hose and turn on the water it leaks. My Pur adapter does not leak when I switch it back. I got a new washer and tried without a washer, I put plumbers tape around the faucet, cannot fix the leak. I am worried that running the dishwasher with it leaking may hurt the motor at some point. ...Also, it's Annoying! Any suggestions.

John, If the leaking is around the fitting for the coupler then you would need to get a new coupler assembly. The leaking should not affect the motor of the dishwasher as it will fill to the proper level before the unit starts operating.

Joyce, sounds like you may have purchased a "specialty" faucet. You may need to contact the dealer or local hardware store or home improvement center with the measurement of the faucet and the thread variation(inside/outside threads) to match the faucet, then install the dishwasher adapter aerator.
