For Ge Coarse Filter (Part Number: OEM11384169)

John Klika for Model Number PDWT280P00SS

I ordered parts from APP several times in the past and have been very happy. But my latest order (#912782225-11080837) was not so great. I'm installing the new Inlet sump, Coarse Filter, and Sump Filter & Cover but the Sump Filter will not snap in place. I compared the distance between the top of the coarse filter and the top of the Inlet sump plate with both the old and the new Coarse filter. The new distance is about 1/2" greater than the old. It's no wonder why it won't snap in place. Part WD22X10038 is NOT a like-for-like replacement. What do I do now? I have photos showing the different gaps.

John, This may be something where the manufacturer may have mispacked the part. I would be recommended to call customer service at 877-477-7278 and maybe see about a reship or stock check.

Suzie, Remove that part and see if the noise goes away. If so reinstall again and check to see if the noise comes back. This part shouldn't touch any moving parts so it's likely debris has gotten into the sump area.

Sam, As long as the filter is not leaking then it will not be necessary to replace the filter.

Steve, The issue with the dispenser not opening would be caused by a dispenser issue. For the middle spray arm not working you will want to check to make sure that the manifold that runs to the spray arm is not clogged and is seating properly. Also check the pump assembly to ensure that there is not clogging or debris in the pump.

Matt, The manufacturer has changed the design in which the course filter no longer requires the seal. The seal did not do anything for the unit and has been removed.

Rhonda, Based on the model number, there is not a part number listed for the gasket that goes around the coarse filter which means it would not be available.
