Tammy August 10, 2017 for Model Number HTDX100EM6WW I have a Hotpoint General Electric dryer about 2 years old. Yesterday I went to dry some clothes and it wouldn't start. I flipped on and off the circuit breaker, but still no luck. I just had a chat with one of your professional reps concerning a thermal fuse that I learned about through youtube. I would like to know could that be the problem? Or should I check something else before ordering the fuse that the rep instructed me to look at? Fuse 30A
1 Answer Hello Tammy. Check for a bad thermal fuse, door switch, or broke belt on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Pat May 19, 2017 for Model Number GTDP740ED0WW My 3 year old GE Dryer keeps blowing fuses. We have cleaned out all the lint and replaced several times but keeps happening and now more frequently. What do I need to check?
1 Answer Hello Pat. The only thing that causes them to blow is either poor air flow or a grounded out heater or motor switch keeping the heater on. Check all duct work even inside the dryer as well. Read More...
