Joe January 20, 2014 for Model Number FUF21SVDRWW I have a GE freezer model FUF21SVDRWW. The door does not seal tightly, and there is a black strip that has broken out of the white rubber seal around the door (the black strip is showing at the bottom of the door). Do I need to replace the gasket or something else? How do I replace what needs to be replaced to repair this issue?
1 Answer Hello Joe! It sounds like the door gasket WR24X10010 needs to be replaced. The door will need to be removed in order to install the seal and remove the screws from the existing seal. Pull the old gasket off. The new gasket will press into the door liner. With the installation, you will have to screw in the corners first and do every other screw on each side to tighten. It may be best to soak the new gasket in warm water to help take its shape/form You may need to use a hair dryer to form the seal, be careful not to melt it. Hope this helps ou. Read More...
