The Gasket is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. It provides a seal around the refrigerator door, ensuring that the cold air stays inside and maintains the proper temperature within the appliance.

Causes of a bad gasket can include wear and tear over time, cracks or tears from repeated opening and closing of the door, or loss of elasticity which can compromise the seal's effectiveness.

Symptoms of a bad gasket include:

  • Warm air leaking into the refrigerator
  • Condensation or frost buildup inside the refrigerator
  • Increased energy consumption due to the refrigerator working harder to maintain temperature
  • Visible cracks, tears, or deformation in the gasket

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Hello Thomas. You need to order WR24X10010 for the door gasket needed. It does not come with directions. You will need to take the door off the unit and remove the old gasket by removing the inner door liner screws. Install new gasket and heat it up to form it to the cabinet. We do not offer any discounts because our prices are already very low. Thank you.

Hello Joe! It sounds like the door gasket WR24X10010 needs to be replaced. The door will need to be removed in order to install the seal and remove the screws from the existing seal. Pull the old gasket off. The new gasket will press into the door liner. With the installation, you will have to screw in the corners first and do every other screw on each side to tighten. It may be best to soak the new gasket in warm water to help take its shape/form You may need to use a hair dryer to form the seal, be careful not to melt it. Hope this helps ou.
