Billy, First thing is remove power to the range and turn off the gas supply at the wall(if possible). Remove everything from the cooktop including the grates, burner caps and burner bases(you'll find it a little easier if you label or mark the locations of the burner parts as you remove them) Under each burner base you'll find one or two Phillips head screws that hold the cooktop to the orifice holders, they need to be removed, be very careful, you can snap or break them off. Once all the screws are removed, use a putty knife and slip it into the seam between the cooktop and the manifold panel and press in on the spring clips and carefully raise the top, you may need to press down lightly on the orifice holder to release them from the bottom of the cooktop they can get "sticky". once you raise/remove the cooktop you'll need to remove the manifold panel and burner knobs. Then you'll have access to the burner valves and switches.
