  • Erratic temperature regulation or inability to maintain the desired heat setting
  • Surface burners or oven not heating properly or not heating at all
  • Indicator lights not functioning correctly
  • Burnt or melted switch knobs or control panel

Causes of a bad infinite switch control can include electrical malfunctions, physical damage, overheating, or general wear and tear over time.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore range and oven models.

For Ge Infinite Switch Control (Part Number: OEM6072228)

Denise for Model Number JS750DF3BB

My stove is a glass top with the knobs on the front. The large right front burner is suddenly extremely hot (we call it the Devil's eyeball hahaha!), even when the knob is turned to low. Does this sound like the infinite switch, and if so, is this the correct part, or do different burners use different switch models? Also, is replacing this similar to the video even though the knobs are on the front rather than on the back as in the demo video? Thanks!!!

Hello Jerry. Yes, these elements do have temp sensors and they can cause the issue. You will need to replace the element if the switch has been replaced and the light remains on. Thank you.

Hello Andrew, Since the surface and bake compartment are on separate circuits after the terminal block, I would start at the terminal block where the cord connects to the unit. If no problem is located there, you should check for issues at the wall outlet and then on back to the breaker/fuse box. Note that the fan and lights are only 120Vac so it sounds like half of the voltage has been dropped.

Hello Tod. I would check and see if the wiring got wet under the cook top and is causing the issue.

Hello Chet, The F7 error code indicates that there is a shorted matrix or start key. Determine if problem is with key panel or control by disconnecting ribbon cable and power up control. If no error code then replace the Keypad. If the errro does om back then replace te board.
