The Infusor Assembly is an OEM part for GE washers. It is responsible for efficiently infusing water into the tub during wash cycles. With a sophisticated internal design, the infusor helps to fully saturate laundry with water in a uniform, controlled manner.

Causes of a bad infusor assembly can include mineral or limescale buildup interfering with water flow, cracks or breaks in the plastic from repeated use, or damage from large items lodged inside.

Symptoms of a bad infusor assembly include:

  • Uneven or inadequate water levels in the tub during fill
  • Reduced water pressure
  • Leaks or water dripping from the assembly area

This OEM GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Roy, If the infusor is coming up and not staying screwed down then either the screw is bad, some Loctite may need to be put on the threading or the infusor needs to be changed because of being damaged.

The infusor arm in my washer was also loose and seemed to fall off, unbalancing the tub. I noticed that the center screw is intact and screwed into a splined shaft. However, the splined shaft seemed broken;about 1.5 inches of the spline was still atttached to the infusor but separated from te rest of the shaft below it. I am not sure if this is supposed to be one shaft, as the splines do not look broken, they look like they just mesh like gears.

Hello Kay. Check the screw in the center and see if it is loose. If not, replace the infuser arm in the unit.
