  • Engages the door catch to hold the door closed
  • Operates safety/door switches when the door is shut
  • Helps resolve issues like "door" error messages or won't start
  • Fixes doors that won't latch, pop open, or require lifting/pushing to run
What's included: 1 door latch assembly. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; use proper PPE and caution around sharp edges
  • Access varies by model; typically reached from the front after removing trim/control panel
  • Note orientation and transfer any reusable hardware/switches as needed; verify smooth latching and proper door recognition after install

Questions & Answers

For Ge Door Latch Assembly (Part Number: OEM17873559)

1 Answer

Alex, if starting the clean cycle and then canceling it within 15 seconds does not get the door to unlock, the main control would need to be tested for voltage output to the latch motor to identify if it is sending voltage or not. If not, the next step would be testing the temperature sensor for 1100 Ohms. If the sensor tests good, it would be likely the main control WB27X25321 has failed. If there was voltage output, with the power supply to the wall oven turned off, a wire hanger would need to be used to force the door latch to unlock. The door latch assembly WB10X23814 would need to be replaced in this case.
