Bob February 14, 2021 for Model Number GE range/oven JGBS80DEM1WW The center burner on my natural gas stove top is oval-shaped, for a griddle, and it does not get hot enough to grill food properly. It currently has orifice 109-N-II. Can I replace it with a larger size spud, like a 175-N-IV which is currently in my front right burner? Or can I just drill it out bigger? thank you
1 Answer Bob, unfortunately, we can not recommend using an orifice other than what is recommended by the manufacturer. However, it would be recommended that the orifice is checked for a partial clog and cleared using a small safety pin. Ensuring the burner head is clean may help with this as well. Read More...
Shawn December 27, 2019 I was trying to convert my Whirlpool stove back to Natural Gas and I broke off one of the orifice spuds. Is there a way to get it out?
1 Answer Hello Shawn, You can try drilling it out but chances of not incurring additional damages are slim. I would just replace the orifice holder by model number. I'm sorry but we will need to ask you to post a new question including the model number from your units' I.D. tag so we can recommend parts that can be guaranteed to work properly on your unit. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
