Steve June 28, 2017 for Model Number GE JKP26GVIBB Get error code F3. Seems like this is the temperature sensor. This is top oven to a double wall oven model, so accessing the rear will be difficult (have to disassemble to access). There does not seem to be any connector that I can fish through the opening, only wire. I see I can use high temperature wire nuts to make the connection. However, I don't know if these wire nuts will fit through the opening in the oven wall (to avoid having to disassemble the oven). Do you know the size of these small porcelain wire nuts? Or do you know whether they will fit through the oven wall opening? Many thanks.
1 Answer Steve, You would want to use a wire nuts for a 16-18 gauge wire and they should go through the hole but will have to get them through 1 at a time. Read More...
Michael W. May 29, 2017 for Model Number JBP55GS1 I am getting an F-4 code. Bake and broil don't work. The stove top still works. I have taken out the oven sensor, bake element, and broil element to test them. oven sensor = 1110 ohms / bake element = 22 ohms / broil element = 11 ohms If I get another oven sensor and it doesn't fix it can I return it?
1 Answer Hello Michael, This fault code is sensor related. Since the reading you took is within tolerance, as long as the reading doesn't "jump" when the sensor is flipped with your finger, the sensor will not be the issue but possibly the harness. IF the harness has no issues, the control board WB27X5508, (which reads the information sent by the temperature sensor), would be the part suspected as the cause of the issue. I'm sorry but this part WB27X5508 has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Marjorie May 06, 2017 I have a GE Profile Electric Double Oven. I am not receiving any error codes. The oven does not heat properly. I have been using an oven thermometer to monitor it and it notifies me that it has reached the set temperature when it is actually about 50 degrees shy. Is this the sensor, or the thermostat itself? Thanks!
1 Answer Marjorie, You will want to check the oven sensor for 1090 ohms of resistance to make sure that the oven sensor is good. If it is bad then the issue will need to be replaced other wise it will be a faulty control board. Read More...
Tony B May 02, 2017 for Model Number JKP55WOT Turn oven on, lights up, set temp, oven never clicks ON or heats up. PLEASE HELP!
1 Answer Hello Tony. Check and make sure the thermal cut out is good. If so, then the part that is needed WB27K5048 has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Read More...
Joe J January 14, 2017 for Model Number jkp62gok2 We are replacinged the element which is cracked. We were having difficulty with temperature fluctuating much too often. Do we also need replace the oven sensor ?
1 Answer Joe, You would want to test the oven sensor to make sure that it is 1090 ohms of resistance at 77 degrees. If the sensor is not reading the correct resistance then this will need to be replaced. Read More...
Ken December 12, 2016 for Model Number JMP28GOR1AD My oven was having an issue were it didn't seem like it was regulating the oven temperature correctly. The oven had been issuing F2 error codes on occasion. I replaced the oven temperature sensor and thought the problem was fixed. I am not getting F2, but it seems like the oven temperature is going up too fast and I don't think the actual oven temperature is correct (haven't got a thermometer in it to verify yet). The temperature counts up at 5 degree increments every 5 seconds. That seems too fast. Is there anything else I should check? I am not sure how to verify that the thermometer sensor is working properly.
1 Answer Hello Ken. It can climb fast if the elements are at full heat. The best way to test it is with a digital multi meter with temp sensor TJMA-DMT3. Read More...
Raymond December 11, 2016 for Model Number RGB745BEA8WH After the oven comes up to temp and beeps . It doesn't stay at temp but drops but the oven is still on can you help?
1 Answer Raymond, You will want to test the oven sensor on the unit for 1090 ohms of resistance at 77 degrees. You will then want to check with the unit set to 350 and check the resistance. The resistance should be approximately 1636 ohms at 350. If the resistance checks ok for both of these and degrees as the temp drops then it would be a faulty control board and if the resistance is not good then would be an issue with the sensor which would need to be replaced. Scott November 03, 2016 for Model Number GE electric slide in range model JSP34A0V1AA Receiving F3 and F2 error messages. Oven heats and sometimes works fine, then other times heats and shuts off then error code. Is this the oven temp sensor? If so, what part should I order? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Scott. The F2 code is for the oven over temp error and the F3 code is for open sensor circuit. Make sure all your wiring is good. If so, replace the sensor WB21X5301. Read More...
Tony P. September 28, 2016 for Model Number JGB920SEC4SS Need the calibration procedure for oven temp.
1 Answer Tony, " Press the BAKE and BROIL HI/LO pads at the same time for 2 seconds until the display shows "SF". Press the BAKE pad. A two digit number shows in the display. Press the BAKE pad once to increase(+) the oven temp. or twice to decease(-). The oven temp. can be adjusted up to (+)35 dgrs.F. hotter or (-) 35 dgrs.F. cooler. Press the number pads the same way you read them. For example, to change the oven temperature 15 dgrs.F., press 1 and 5. When you have made the adjustment, press the START pad to go back to the time of day display. NOTE : Adjustments will not affect the broiling or self-cleaning temperatures. It will be retained in memory after a power failure. Thanks Read More...
Harriet September 07, 2016 for Model Number 164D3871 P001 CODE F3 keeps appearing. When pressing START and then setting the temp it automatically beeps (as if the oven has reached the temperature before even pre-heating). Any idea what this can be??
1 Answer Harriet, The F3 error code and the beep in a matter of less than 10 minutes would indicate a faulty oven sensor or wiring. It could also be a problem in the ERC/Clock, but that's not the place to start, start with the oven sensor. A proper and complete model number would've been a big help, w could have supplied part numbers and resistance readings to assist you better. Thanks, Read More...
