The Heater Assembly is an OEM replacement part for LG built-in dishwashers. It houses several heating elements that work to raise the temperature of the water during the hot washing and drying cycles. Proper heat is essential for removing stubborn soils and ensuring dishes are fully sanitized.

Causes of a bad heater assembly can include broken, cracked, or burned-out heating elements due to age. Corroded connectors may impair power delivery over time. Mineral buildup inside the assembly reduces heat transfer efficiency.

Symptoms of a bad heater assembly include:

  • Incomplete cleaning even on normal cycles
  • Dishes left wet or with water spots after drying
  • Run cycles taking longer than expected to complete
  • Reduced temperature tolerances triggering heating faults

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Lg Heater Assembly (Part Number: OEM17027547)

1 Answer

Sky, you will want to check the wiring and thermistor by going to wire connection RD6 on the main control. If you disconnect power to the dishwasher, you will then be able to safely test that thermistor by removing the connection from the control and testing the red wire at pin 3 to the black wire at pin 2. You will want to test for the resistance of that thermistor which should read between 11 and 14 k ohms. If there is not a resistance reading, then you will want to check the wiring to ensure that there are no breaks in the wiring. If the wiring is good and there is no resistance or the resistance is not within that range, you will want to replace the thermistor [AEG72950001]. If the resistance is within that proper range, you would want to change out the main control [EBR63265303].
