This ice maker assembly replaces a failed refrigerator ice maker to restore automatic ice production and reliable cube harvesting. Use it to address lack of ice or irregular ice cycling so your appliance makes ice again. What it does:

  • Freezes and cycles water into ice, then harvests cubes into the ice bin.
  • Common replacement for no ice production, reduced output, or an ice maker that won't cycle.
  • Helps isolate ice-maker failures from water-supply or valve issues when diagnosing ice problems.
What's included: One ice maker assembly. Install notes:
  • Always disconnect power and shut off the water supply before beginning service.
  • Some installs require removing shelves, drawers or interior panels.
  • Basic hand tools are typically all that's needed; handle electrical connectors and the fill tube carefully.
  • If issues continue after replacement, verify water supply pressure and the water inlet valve.

Ursula, the temperature of the freezer would need to be checked using a thermometer. If the temperature is not reaching the set temperature, this could be caused by a bad thermistor. If the temperature is matching the set temperature, the setting would need to be adjusted to as close to 0°F as possible as the ice maker will not properly cycle at temperatures more than 1°F. Warmer temperatures will cause a slow harvest rate.
