Rick August 05, 2015 I have a 4 year old top load ge washer with s stainless tub, the problem seems to be that the seam where the tub is put together has some separation and is rubbing the outter tub in spots and causing a bad vibration on spin cycle. Is there a problem with these tubs?
1 Answer Hello Rick. It is not common for this to happen. You will need to replace the inner basket. If the outer is damaged, you will need to replace it as well on the unit. Read More...
Tue November 28, 2013 for Model Number WM1812CW The washer is having loud noise when spinning, even without clothes. I have noticed the inner drum look out of balance. and bouncing while spinning. I am not sure that was inner drum need to be replaced or could be something else?
1 Answer Tue, With the inner drum moving around and the noise, the issue sounds like it would be caused by a possible broken spider 4434ER0003C which attaches to the inner tub. Read More...
Richard K June 19, 2013 for Model Number WM1814cw The inner drum is spinning freely from the rear drum. Can I replace only the inner drum. Are there any other parts I should order with the drum. Is it possible that just the spider is broken? Thanks
1 Answer Richard, You will want to pull the inner basket and check to see if the spider assembly has come loose. The rear outer drum is not supposed to move but the bearings allow the inner drum to spin freely. If the unit is making a loud roaring noise during spin then the bearings would be the issue. Zorkonii July 25, 2012 for Model Number wm2688hwm I'm having fits trying to get the lifters out of the inner drum to get to the nuts on the inside of the spider bolts.I have the two screws out, (the inner phillips head that holds on the working surface of the lifters as well as the hex head on the outer surface of the inner drum that appears to allow the lifter to slide forward0. The lifter will not slide. (the tabs on the drum have been bent out of the way as well.)
