Questions & Answers

For Lg Refrigerator Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: OEM18101274)

1 Answer

Tex, There are multiple valves on your model (the one listed above is not one of them). It would be advised to use a meter to check to see if one of the valves is the issue.

Mark for Model Number 795.51853611

I have a Kenmore Elite refrigerator - model 795.51853611 (rebranded LG). There is a plastic tray that spans the width of the unit in the rear that has a lip on it. Immediately next to the water inlet valve is a vertical drain hose that I suspect allows the water that forms during the defrost cycle to flow into said tray and which eventually evaporates at room temp? Can you confirm this is the case and is normal operation or do I have a bigger problem than I initially thought? Thanks!

Mark, Thanks for the question!!! Yes, what you describe is correct for the design of this model.

Mark for Model Number 795.51853611

I have a Kenmore Elite side-by-side (rebranded LG) model 795.51853611. The water dispenser on the freezer door works fine and the water pressure is strong. However, the ice maker is not filling with water; thus no ice! I have replaced the ice maker to no avail. I have also replaced the water inlet valve and still no ice. I have checked for a frozen water line by inserting a nylon zip-tie into the ice maker water fill tube and it travels the length of the 8" tie easily. I did notice that the cubes became smaller before the icemaker actually stopped making ice, which leads me to believe it is an obstruction of water flow or low pressure. Also, I have noticed water 'puddling' below the water inlet valve in the white plastic tray underneath the refrigerator (not sure if this is from the water drain tube leading from the evaporator coil or otherwise). I inspected all 4 water lines but see no evidence of a split or crack in any of the lines. Please help!

Hello Mark, You will need to force the icemaker to cycle and look for 120Vac to the water valve for about 6 to 7 seconds near the end of the icemakers' cycle. I the voltage never shows up you will need to verify voltage from the ice maker to determine if the issue is with the harness, the icemaker.

Las for Model Number LG LSXS26366D/01

I have an LG LSXS26366D/01 refrigerator. The ice maker is overfilling, making a big block of ice out of the whole unit, which then drips through the ice bin into the ice chute, and puddles outside the fridge. I replaced the ice maker. Same exact thing happened to the new one. The water dispenses perfectly, so there's seemingly no water pressure issues. Filter seems fine. If the water dispenses fine, doesn't that mean the water intake valve still works? Or since there are four ports/hoses on the valve, it is possible the one for the water is fine but the one for the ice maker is shot -- some ports can work while others don't? Does the whole unit have to be replaced if one port fails, or you can repair the failed port? I removed the water intake valve, and it had no obvious signs of issues. is there something to look for? If it is not the water intake valve, what else could be the culprit? Also, the part number on the existing water intake valve is MJX41178937. That is nowhere close to the model number you list as the replacement, AJU34125555. Are these two parts compatible? Thank you very much for any guidance you can offer.

LAS, Thanks for your question. The first thing to check would be the water pressure as this could affect the ice maker fill cycle. and the valve part number for your model is AJU34125555

Mark, Yes you should be able to use this part AJU34125555 and you can just use the current tubing on your unit and get rid of the blue tubing that comes with the part.

Les, You will need to look at your model and see if there is a fill tube heater for it. If there is then that would be the most likely cause for the fill tube to freeze. Unfortunately, we do not have any wiring information for this model to be able to tell.

Les, This valve should use the water lines there just as they came off the old valve.

Les for Model Number 79551832.412

My ice maker stopped making ice. When I reset it it goes thru the cycle but no water is sent to the ice maker. When I use hairdryer on supply tube water is sent and ice is made and harvested but eventually stops and I notice ice cycle formed from the supply tube.Is solenoid bad and what part do I need and how easy to do myself as I am pretty hand but like to have instructions if job is more than plug and play.I think the problem is water supply issue and not ice maker itself due. To freezing supply line.Am I correct?
