Bob July 05, 2020 for Model Number MCO165UW On the panel there is a button to adjust the vent seed --Low- High- and off. The panel display shows up but only low and off work. Can you guide me as to repair? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Bob, the control board controls the fan speeds, it is part (PKMPMSF200) however it is no longer available as per the manufacturer. Read More...
Chris June 20, 2020 for Model Number MCO165S I have removed the Control Panel and found the 90C Normally Open thermostat to be blacked and burned on the right side. I can't seem to find it on the diagram but its the thermostat on the right side when facing the microwave. My question is I do not know which of the two Thermostats to order as the failed part does not have a part number and the only info on the blown thermostat is 1307 on the top line followed by KSD 90c on the second and finally NO at the bottom.
1 Answer Chris, the normally open thermostat is going to be part number 3518906800 for your model. Read More...
Lex February 09, 2018 for Model Number MCO165uw I mistakenly ran the microwave for some amount of time with nothing in it, I meant to set timer but i started the microwave, i know I set it for 15 minutes but I'm not sure how long it ran before it shut off. Once it shut off it initially would not show any indication of power. Then after about 30 minutes or so it mysteriously powered back up but if fails to heat now . Everything works , it just will not heat. all thermal fuses seem to be fine, ALSO .. how do i determine the state of the 2 thermal fuses behind the panel, mounted to the bottom ? NO . NC ??? i know one of them test with continuity and the other doesnt
1 Answer Lex, The 2 thermals behind the control panel one will be open and one will be normally closed. As for the heating issue you will want to check the magnetron to make sure that it is good and should have a resistance of less than one ohm to be good. Read More...
Bruce O December 04, 2017 for Model Number MCO160UB Panel is dark, light comes on when door opened. I checked the panel fuse and it is good. Ideas?
1 Answer Bruce, With the unit not working then you will want to check the door switches as this will be the most likely cause for the unit to not work properly. Read More...
Julian Avent July 07, 2017 for Model Number MCO165UB When ever the oven is on, the fan (extremely loud) comes on in the microwave. After the oven is cut off, eventually the fan in the microwave goes off. It has done this ever since it was new. Is this a design flaw or what? How do I stop this obtrusive noise? Thanks Jay
1 Answer Julian, You will want to remove the cabinet and see if there is anything obstructing the fan and causing the noise. If this is not the case then the fan may need to be replaced. Read More...
Charley January 12, 2017 for Model Number MOU165UW Where can I get a Schematic of this Magic Chef Microwave. I don't know whether the thermostats are normally open or closed. The vent fan comes on when the heat rises from the oven below and eventually the whole microwave goes off. Unplugging the AC and plugging back up powers up the microwave but it does everything but heat up. The first two times this happened it eventually started heating up again. On number three now, no heat. The Magnetron and Cap seem to test ok so I don't know where to go without a schematic.
1 Answer Charley, To get the wiring diagram for this unit, if it is not inside, you would need to go to the manufacturer which is MCAppliances. Read More...
Rene April 21, 2015 for Model Number MCO165UB I had to reset my homes circuit braker. After that my micro has no power.Im thinking it might be a fuse, but then again im not too electric savy. Any Idea on what It might be?
1 Answer Hello Rene. You will need to test the fuse in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Debbie M. February 23, 2015 for Model Number MCO165UB My granddaughter put aluminum foil in the microwave and now it runs but doesn't heat. Not sure what part I would need to get the microwave to heat. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Debbie, When metal in the microwave blocks the waves and it arcs back to the magnetron, the magnetron is damaged 3518003420 and wont produce microwaves. You may also need the capacitor 3518302201 and diode which is no longer available. Read More...
Harry Jordan July 17, 2014 for Model Number MCO165UB Unit has two thermo fuses in cavity behind control panel. Both test open / bad. I think one of the fuses is 3518906800. Is the other 3518905500? Thought 53001817 was the needed fuse but spades connects are not the same size.
1 Answer Harry, The 2 thermostats that are located on the base are part numbers 3518906800 and 3518905500. One of these will read normally open and the other should read normally closed. They would be wired in series with each other so that when one opens the other closes and allows the unit to continue to run. Read More...
