Gerald W for Model Number RFG298HDRS/XAA-0000

Having intermittent problems with dispensing water or ice from my Samsung Refrigerator; Model number RFG298HDRS, but do believe that the subject Assembly Cover DISP; AW2-11C; Part Number: AP5587555: Made by: Samsung is where the problem is related to because I can activate the switch several times consecutively for either ice or water and then on the 3rd or 4th attempt it fails to operate without ever opening the door Like the question posted previously by Ken, how do I remove the Assembly Cover DISP;AW2-11,C; Part Number: AP5587555: Made by: Samsung, which includes the screen display. However, unlike his description, there is only one screw on the right side of the ice/water Shute and where he had described the locations of the other two screws on my unit there is only LED lights equally spaced from each side and about 1 inch back from the front bezel. The other one is centered, front to back, and on the right side of the ice chute. Like Ken, I have no problems buying the unit for $118.97 plus shipping but before I do, I need to know how to remove the old one on my refrigerator. Would appreciate any help that can be provided.

Gerald, To remove the dispenser assembly, there is one screw on the right side of the chute. It will be slightly back from the led and in between the LED and the chute. Remove this screw and grab the opening of the chute and pull to the right and then out on the display. This should allow the dispenser to release.

Ken for Model Number RFG298HDRS/XAA

How do I remove your p/n AP5587555. Left door Ice Chute assembly? It includes a touch screen display. There are 3 screws on the bottom of the assembly. 2 of them are a little smaller and equally spaced from each side and about 1 inch back from the front bezel. The other one is centered, front to back, and on the right side of the ice chute. The 2 smaller ones look like they may be mounting something inside the housing. The other one's function is unknown. I have no problems buying the unit for $118.97 plus shipping but before I do, I need to know how to remove it. I have already talked to Bud and Dave about this problem. The reason for my question is that the display has dimmed so much that it is almost unreadable now. Thank you, Ken

Hello Ken. There is one screw on the right side of the funnel. You will remove it and then you can remove the housing from the door.
