Questions & Answers

For Samsung Refrigerator Dispenser Lever Assembly (Part Number: OEM13735563)

1 Answer

Andrew, with the refrigerator unplugged, there should be 1 screw on the underside of the dispenser assembly on the right-hand side by the ice chute. This screw would need to be removed then the display would need to be pushed to the right while the right side of the display is lifted up. The paddle switch can then be tested for continuity while activated by the paddle. If the switches test as having continuity while the paddle is activated, the dispenser control DA97-11828A has failed. If one does not have continuity while the paddles are pressed, the dispenser lever assembly DA97-08519A would need to be replaced.

Steve, it would be likely that the dispenser lever assembly DA97-08519A is the cause. However, it is recommended that the paddle switch is tested to ensure that it has failed. The switch would be tested for continuity at the wire connector when the ice paddle is pressed. With the power cord unplugged from the wall outlet, the dispenser lever would be accessed by removing the screw located under the display cover. From there, the display cover will need to be pushed to the right while lifting up on the right side. It is recommended that a picture of the wires is taken before removing the wires to ensure the proper placement is noted. There will be a lock tab located under the display where the dispenser lever assembly sits that will need to be pressed in to allow the two to be pulled away from each other.

George for Model Number Samsung Frig model RF4287 HARS

My Samsung fridge will not dispense ice when I push the ice paddle. All I get is water. Do I need a new ice.water paddle assembly? I also keep getting a 2 E error after a power outage. The error indicates the Freezer Sensor. Where is the freezer sensor located? I will order the part I need from your company. Please advise. My fridge portion isn't cooling as it should. The freezer is cold. Produce compartment stay at right temp, just the center portion stays warm vs 34 degrees setting. Would the freezer sensor help my problem with cooling the fridge portion?

1 Answer

George, the error 2E is going to indicate that there is a fresh food sensor DA32-00033C issue. The sensor can be found at the top of the back cover assembly and tested for resistance. At 80°F the resistance should be 4690O. at 70°F it should read 5621O, at 64°F it should read 6521O, at 60°F it should read 7032O. If the sensor tests properly, the issue would be in the main control DA41-00684A. In regards to the water coming out of the dispenser while dispensing ice, if the ice maker fan in the freezer fan is not running it will not provide cold air for the ice to freeze. The ice maker fan DA31-00146B can be tested by going to the main control connection 76 pin 2 (with the red probe of a meter) to pin1 (with the black probe of a meter) for 7-11 VDC. If there is not a voltage supply then the main board has failed. If there is a voltage supply then the fan motor has failed.

Ralph, while the lever assembly [DA97-08519A] may be the potential issue, you may want to test it still. There are microswitches that can be tested in the assembly by testing for continuity. If the grey wire does not have continuity with the blue and white wire when the ice paddle is pressed, then this will tell the control that only the water paddle is pressed. This will then verify that the lever assembly has failed. If they do have continuity, then the main control may not be receiving the voltage from the paddle or may not even be reading the signal at all.

Dennis P for Model Number RF4287HARS/XAA

My ice dispenser lever is broken and I bought the replacement lever part # AP4578518. I have read the comment about how to disassemble the display panel. I have tried repeated times to pull this out by moving to the right and pulling it out. I have removed the screw. On my refrigerator the display panel is flush with the door front. Pushing it to the right gives no movement because display panel has nowhere to go but straight out. Am I missing something?

1 Answer

Hello Dennis. You do pull straight out and down to the right all at the same time. These can be very difficult to get to pop free from the door. This is how the manufacturer Samsung says to remove the part. Sometimes these parts do break when trying to remove them.
