This is a Samsung washing machine lid assembly, which covers the washing machine tub.A dented or cracked lid may not close correctly, which can prevent the washer from running if the lid latch can't engage. To replace a damaged lid, check the back of the washer for mounting hardware. Use a phillips head screwdriver to remove the mounting screws. There should be two on each side. Once it's loose, grab the lid with both hands and pull back and up to remove it.
