Allen, Yes it is possible for the control board to be the issue with your dryer, but there are other things and components to check first. Do you have the proper power to the dryer, is the heater element intact, do all the thermostats and cut out thermos have "closed" circuits, and more. You shouldn't replace the control board on a "maybe" at least do the basic checks first.

Jeffrey F for Model Number DV405GTPASU/AA-0000

I am trying to repair my dryer. I have purchased a new board but it still does not work. My symptom was at first that the dryer would not shut off. That meaning the drum kept turning even when you switched the power off. it only stopped when you opened the door. so I bought a new board put it in and it didn't work. (it turned out to wrong one). So I plugged the old board back in and it worked fine. power switch worked drum turned off as I cycled through a couple tries for heating. I unplugged board to put it back on mounting plate put back together and I get nothing. I mean no display nothing. dryer doesn't even light up. I am hvac technician and am puzzled. I have tested all my safeties including door switch and all are fine. I have power into my board but it seems to go no where. Even with another new board that is the exact model. The two large relays that carry line voltage to the board start and remain open. How does the board get power? How much voltage goes to the control panel? That's the only other thing it could be but if I get no voltage to the pins going to control panel I m stumped. Your thoughts please.

Jeffrey, If you are getting no voltage to the control panel then the main board is not sending power out. There is 120 vac into this main board but no voltage going out of the board and the main board would need to be replaced. The part number for the main board will be DC92-00322U.
