1 Answer Sue, You're on the right track, the first thing should be, to remove the agitator and check the splines in the bottom to see if they have stripped out on the transmission output shaft. Remove the center cap of the agitator, With a 7/16 in. socket, extension, and wrench, remove the bolt(turn counter clockwise). Grasp the agitator, and lift it up and out of the tub.
