Lori R. February 16, 2017 for Model Number WTW5640XW2 I have a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine, and there is an area of corrosion/rust on the inside of the lid. When the lid is open and I pour the detergent into the receptacle, some detergent gets caught under the lip of the open lid, and doesn't drain.... and over the years, it has corroded the inside of the lid. It now has an odor in that spot, too. I'd like to sand and re-paint that spot on the underneath lip of the lid so that it's clean and doesn't smell. Can I use this paint on the inside of the lid?

I've used QB microwave cavity paint in the past, having sanded rusted areas prior to spray painting, but the rust continues to return. Any suggestions on how to prep interior for a longer lasting application? Thanks.
