John February 08, 2018 for Model Number KDRS505XSS01 The middle size burner does not light, others are fine. Pulled the cap off and there is no visible spark. Is the ignitor a replaceable part? What is the part number for the middle size burner. Do they come with an ignitor installed? Don't see an ignitor in the pictures.
1 Answer John, The surface igniter for this burner will be W10324015 and you will want to check the ignition switches to ensure that they are good. You would test these for continuity in the light position and if there is not continuity then replace the switch. Read More...

Jing Huang August 06, 2016 The gas cooktop (MGC5430BDW) which I'm using seems perfect from what it looks. The only thing I notice is that the cooktop (around the burner) is getting extremely hot. It wasn't like this before. I called a service man to take a look at it. He couldn't figure out why but only suggested I replace the burner head. I ordered a new burner head and put it on. Unfortunately it doesn't solve the problem - the cooktop is still very hot.
1 Answer Huang, Is your cooktop using Nat gas or LP gas ? it shouldn't make a "major" difference. As long as the flames from the burner are a "double" blue flames, with little to no white or yellow tipping at the top of the flame, you have a proper fuel air mixture, and the burners are working properly. You do need to realize that over sized pots and pans, as well as prolonged high temperature cooking, will deflect the heat from the burner and the bottom of the pot or pan back into the cooktop and can cause it to get extremely hot.
