Carl June 24, 2015 for Model Number afi2538aes I replaced the ice maker and water valve and it made ice for about 11 months and stopped all of a sudden! My question is how do I get the temperature in the ice maker compartment down below 12-14 degrees? The manual says it won't make ice at that temperature and should be 0 to -2 degrees! The bottom freezer is below zero! Is there a fan that forces air to the ice maker or is there a passage that could be blocked?
1 Answer Hello Carl, There is a fan in the ice maker compartment. If it is not running, it WP67006968 should be replaced. If it is running, the duct from the freezer compartment should be checked for frost build-up. This would be caused by an air leak around the freezer door gasket. Read More...
