For Whirlpool Dishwasher Door Balance Link Kit (Part Number: OEM11326245)

George, if the appliance is level and there is not an obstruction that would prevent the latch from operating, it is likely that the latch WD13X71 has failed. It would need to be inspected directly for failure while the door panel is disassembled. Unfortunately, this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available.

Robert Scatko for Model Number KUDS01DLBL2

Hello, I need to replace the Dishwasher Door Cable 8194001on my KitchenAid dish washer. This part is available all over the internet from prices ranging from $6.00 to $45.00. With a wide range of reviews, a frequent complaint is the lenght of the code is shorter than the original. I have not removed my part yet, however, the cord appears to be at least 13" long. How does your offering compare, is it a original equipment replacement. Thanks for yoir assistance. Robert

1 Answer

Robert, The door balance kit is OEM and the cord would be approximately 15" overall length.

Casey, While it is not necessary to replace both sides it would be good to replace both just in case the unbroken one has become weak.

Hello David, The door has most likely been lifted from the hinge pin. You will need to raise the door and see if you can hook it back onto the hinge pins. If not, you may need to pull the unit a few inches from its' installation so you can see the hinge assemblies to get it back into the correct configuration. If there is any damage to the unit you will be able to see what the problem is with the unit pulled out a few inches.

David, Most likely a hinge problem. Someone may have bumped the door when it was open or lifted up on the door and dislodged the hinge from the hinge pin on the frame. Remove the lower kick plate and cover panel and you should be able to determine the problem almost immediately. If it's dislodged, you can usually carefully lift up on the door assembly and "slip" the slot in the hinge back onto the hinge pin on the frame.

Marti, It sounds like the springs for the door may be weak and causing this issue to occur. Also make sure that the springs are in the correct position on the base.

Henry, While we do not have the exact measurements of the 2 parts, it does appear that they are the same from the pictures on the website.
