Door lock hoop assembly that positions and secures the door latch striker so the door closes and the interlock can engage. Replacing a worn or damaged hoop restores proper door alignment and reliable door closure. What it does:

  • Positions the latch striker so the door can fully engage and stay closed.
  • Allows the door interlock to operate correctly; often replaced when the appliance won't start because the door won't latch.
  • Reduces door play and rattling caused by a bent, cracked, or worn hoop.
What's included: One door lock hoop assembly. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power (and water supply for washers) before starting any repair.
  • Access may require removing the door or front panel; follow the appliance service manual for model-specific steps.
  • Inspect the latch/strike and mounting hardware while installing; replace any damaged components and verify correct alignment before reassembly.

Pamela, The "FL" code indicates the the door failed to lock. The manual release is a plastic cable, located inside the dispenser assembly in the front portion of the dispenser bottom. slowly, carefully pull on the cable and open the door at the same time. Once the door is opened, check the alignment of the door catch to the catch assembly on the cabinet, make sure the door hinges are tight, and the door is aligned to the opening. Your Tehnical Data Sheet is located inside the control panel, remove the 3 screws across the back top portion of the console, pull towards you on the top, and push back on the bottom of the console assembly to disengage the console from the top of the washer. There are numerous test sequences and test programs, that will give us a better idea of the issue. Thanks and Good Luck.
