Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Door Removal Pin Kit (Part Number: OEM9198189)

Grammy, while the oven door is in the fully open position, there will be a hole exposed in the hinge on each side. The pin kit 814381 or a nail can be used to be inserted into this hole so that when the door is lifted up it does not move past a 45° angle. This will allow the door to be lifted up and removed.

Mike, when the pins are in the proper position, you should be able to open the door and pull up and out at the bottom to remove the door.

Hello Susan, You can remove the door liner to retrieve the screw/nut. You should be able to reuse the door screw/nut. I would use a small amount of adhesive WPY055980 on the threads to prevent it from backing off again.

Hello Tom. If you open the door to the first stopping point, some oven doors will lift off the unit in this position. On other models, you will see clips on the back of the hinge toward the opening where the hinge enters the range. If yours is like this, you will open the door all the way open, then pull the clips down until they stop and lock in place. Then close the door to the stopping point and lift the door off the range. If you door does not lift off, and it does not have the clips, then you will open the door all the way open. You will see a hole in the hinge at the bottom of the door. You will insert a pin or nail into that hole and close the door to the stopping point. Then you can lift the door off the unit.
