Trish, We're going to need the model number of your dryer, so we can check and verify the proper part needed and the proper installation . The part number you supplied W10295405 is held in place with a screw and also includes the door strike, this doesn't match your description of the part you need. Thanks,

Hello Palo. You will need to remove the screw securing the latch to the door. Then lift up on the botton of the plate and slide off the door panel. Insert leg into the slot on the door panel of the new latch and reinstall the screw into the unit.

Arnold E. for Model Number WED6600VW0

My dryer door opens from the left. The female door catch came loose and I can't get the door to stay closed and the dryer will not operate. I moved the door hinges to the opposite side so it will open to the left. There was a female door catch on the opposite side so I moved the male door catch so it would engage. This all went well but I dont have any power to the dryer when I press the power button to turn the drum. What am I doing wrong.

Hello Arnold. You need to check and make sure the switch is good on the unit if the door is closing properly. If so, check the door switch and see if it is bad on the unit.

Sue, Sorry, but no. The proper repair would be to replace the panel assembly. You could go to a local hardware store or home improvement center, take the strike with you for sizing, and purchase a "tinnerman" speed nut, and use it to attach the strike to the front panel from the inside. It should last a while, and keep you going if you do it right. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Steve. These are not hard to replace. You will remove the screw holding the dryer door latch W10295405 in place and replace the latch. Then the dryer door strike W10295405 unscrews from the dryer door. You can use the other latch, but it is not recommended by the manufacture. Hope this helps.
