The broil element is the oven's upper heating element. It delivers intense radiant heat for broiling; replacing a failed element restores proper broil performance and more even browning.

• Provides top, direct radiant heat during the Broil cycle
• Symptoms of failure: no broil heat, uneven broiling, visible blistering/cracks or breaks in the element, sparking or tripping the breaker when Broil is selected
• Helps restore proper searing/finishing from the top of the oven

• Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the range before servicing
• Remove oven racks; support the element while removing its mounting screws
• Gently pull the element forward and disconnect the two wires; prevent wires from slipping behind the oven liner
• Make firm, clean terminal connections; avoid bending the element, reinstall screws, then test the Broil cycle
