1 Answer Leticia, I would recommend checking the water inlet valve and the hose from the valve to the tub. Read More...
Sal December 31, 2018 for Model Number LSQ8243HQ0 Matt, I saw your video that inspire me to replace the Tub gasket.myself. However, I could not pull the inner tub easily like you did in your video. The machine is 19 years old so I understand it won't be easy pull. I sprayed hot water, I sprayed knocker loose penetrating solvent too but no luck. Any suggestion.
1 Answer Sal, The only way to get this tub out would be to try and rock the tub from side to side. This is really the only way to do this issue. Read More...
Mark July 24, 2017 for Model Number LSR6132HQ0 Hello...please bear with me as I walk through this. First, my wife reported that the clothes were not spinning dry enough--basically they were still dripping wet. A little online research seemed to indicate a worn clutch. Ordered and I replaced it. But when I pulled the machine away from the wall, I found that it has also been leaking water from underneath (not found earlier, unfortunately, due to a couple of towels that had accidentally gotten tossed behind washer, that were wet.) So, again, a little research said the most likely culprit was the pump. Even though I could see no water around the pump or hoses that attach to it. I replaced the pump only. But water is still leaking from underneath. I have watched it, and the leaking will begin after the tub has filled, but before the machine begins to agitate. After the load was done, pulled machine from wall and propped up securely so I could look under. I'm finding some water on the drain hose, but also above that, on the bottom of the plastic outer tub. Suggestions? I'm guessing either the tub seal, or a crack in outer tub maybe? The machine is about 15 years old, by the way. Any help would be MUCH appreciated!
1 Answer Mark, The most likely cause for this issue will be that the centerpost seal is faulty and would need replaced. The part number is W10814296. Read More...
Mike W. January 15, 2017 RAS7133KQ0 washer has an odor when not in use. When filling and washing it smells like musty mold odor. Washes fine with no water leaks.
1 Answer Hello Mike, This is a common problem with all washers in that standing water will stagnate. Certain mineral deposits in the water seems to amplify this. There are several things that can be done to decrease the issue. Washing at least 2 loads with hot water and bleach helps a lot. leaving the lid open so it can dry out a bit between uses helps also. If the smell is severe, you can pour a pint or two of white vinegar into the tub between uses since the bacterial that causes mold, mildew, and stagnation does not thrive in white vinegar and it will not harm clothing or the dyes therein. Bill October 15, 2016 for Model Number LA5460XTW0 My Whirlpool Washer has a trickle-type leak at the bottom back left side which appeared recently, especially noticeable during initial fill cycle. The machine is on a wood platform in my basement cement floor that is painted . Aside from the bottom tub gasket seal, is there ANY other location where a leak could occur, such as a crack in the outer tub perhaps? I acknowledge that in the process to replace the bottom seal, I would inspect the outer tub for leaks. Just asking as far as probable vs.less likely leak locations. What is the probability factor for a seal leak?
1 Answer Bill, You will want to check for leaks around the hose that feeds water from the water valve to the tub. Also the outer tub having a crack is a possibility with the leaking issue. You will want to try to determine the exact location of the leak with visible checks. Also check to make sure that the pressure hose did not come loose. Read More...
Manuel April 02, 2016 for Model Number LLR6144BQ0 Sometimes I have found oil drops in wash. I guess they are coming from transmission gear, but washer parts diagram doesn't shown any kind of seal for replacement. Any ideas about how to fix it ?
1 Answer Hello Manuel, This is normally not oil but actually spoiled fabric softener that has broken free from the inside of the agitator. The only way oil can get into the wash is if the vent hole on top of the gearcase gets stopped up. When this is the case clearing the vent hole with a safety pin will clear the issue. If oil if found in the floor the gearcase will have to be replaced to correct the issue. Read More...
Jenny August 16, 2015 for Model Number WTW5520SQ0 Trying to put it back together. Not enough strength to get the spring in the rear in slot. The other two I left connected to bracket and just reattached bracket. Suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Jenny, Remove the 1/4 inch screw from the bracket and hook it into the end of the spring. Rotate it around and slip it into the slot and use the screw to draw it back into proper position. Read More...
Bubba July 04, 2015 for Model Number GSQ9364HQ0 I replaced the transmission, recently we've noticed water in the floor, i'm leaning toward the tub gasket. It only leaks with the tub loaded. I've taken it out in the driveway and run it w/o clothes in it and it doesn't leak. Ugh! It was loaded and running when i saw the water i tipped the washer back and you can see water dripping off the transmission.
1 Answer Bubba, The most likely cause for water dripping from the center of the gearcase would be a bad centerpost seal part number W10814296. Read More...
Mark January 09, 2015 for Model Number 110.82673110 OK have to replace the center tub seal which I bought, I also bought a spanner wrench. I have the spanner nut off. I have been pushing and pulling for a day and cant get the metal basket free. I heard of some sort of spanner with hook but not sure what that is, and if it applies to my machine. I am not sure how that helps since doesn t the drive block have tabs that would prevent any movement?
1 Answer Mark, The only way to get the tub off when it is stuck is to push down on the inner tub side to side to try and break it free. There is no special tool to get this loose. Read More...
Phil June 17, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool LSR7233EQ0 I have a leak that starts just as the machine enters the spin cycle. Sometimes it drips steady, other times it is only a drop or two. The drips are coming from the center of the machine, just above the transmission. A picture can be seen here I would say the center post seal but it seems strange it only starts with the start of the spin cycle. Thank you
1 Answer Phil, Based on the information and after looking at the picture, this issue would appear that the tub has a crack in it. You will want to pull the tub and check it and also check around the center post seal. Read More...
