This cutter grid ensures that the ice is separated and dispensed properly, providing consistent ice cube sizes for your convenience.

Causes of a bad ice maker cutter grid can include electrical issues affecting the grid's heating element, wear and tear from extended use, or damage due to ice buildup and blockages.

Symptoms of a bad ice maker cutter grid include:

  • Irregularly shaped or uneven ice cubes
  • Ice cubes sticking together and not dispensing properly
  • The ice maker not producing any ice
  • Visible damage or corrosion on the grid wires

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Lee Davis for Model Number KUIC15NHZS

On this model, the water level sensor failed and when I pulled the parts from the unit, the top wire on the cutting grid was also broken. I installed the new sensor and then I attempted to fix the cutting grid by installing a new stainless wire, but the gauge was a bit bigger than the original. It worked for a few days, and then stopped. I thought that my repair had failed, so I ordered a new cutting grid. I installed it and now it is not cutting ice. What have I broken in the process of this repair?

1 Answer

Lee This issue sounds likely that the transformer will be the issue with having a new cutter grid.
