The Motor to Sump Seal is an OEM part for Whirlpool dishwashers. It creates a watertight seal between the motor and the sump, preventing leaks and ensuring efficient operation of the dishwasher. This seal plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the dishwasher's internal components.

Causes of a bad motor to sump seal can include wear and tear from regular use, damage due to improper installation or maintenance, and deterioration from exposure to heat and detergents over time. A compromised seal can lead to leaks and reduced efficiency.

Symptoms of a bad motor to sump seal include:

  • Water leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher
  • Puddles of water underneath the appliance
  • Unusual noises or reduced performance of the dishwasher
  • Visible cracks or wear on the seal

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Anthony for Model Number WDT750SAHZ0

Leaking when changing (diverter) to another cycle. floor is wet every time we run the dishwasher. Seems like a small drip when the sound changes in the diverter from the white plastic square piece under the sump seal. 2 repair people came out and said you must replace the entire sump. one said its because they don't make the part "im guessing the seal". and the cost was so much I should just buy another $799 dishwasher. Was going to give it a shot to either change the seal (seems easier) than the whole Sump. its 2 years old. thoughts?

1 Answer

Anthony, Based on the model and information provided you would need to replace the sump as the diverter seal is not offered by the manufacturer without the sump.
