Dick March 24, 2014 for Model Number MH 1150XMQ-1 I need to replace a broken surface light socket. The part is available but I need to know how I replace the socket. Apparently need to remove the bottom of the microwave. Can you give me specific instructions on doing this? Looks like it might be a bit complicated.
1 Answer Dick, To replace the surface light socket, you would remove the screws from the base of the unit with the unit still in place. With the screws removed the panel will drop down in the front and allow access to the turntable motor, and light sockets. Read More...
Jim B March 10, 2014 for Model Number mh1150xmb1 Replaced cook top light bulb once and it worked fine. Light went again about a year later. Replaced bulb but light won't come on. Replaced bulb socket and still will not work. Saw that board has power supply. Is that replaceable. Any other fuse? Rest of MW works fine. Never noticed socket shorting.
1 Answer Jim, If the socket and the bulb have been replaced then the issue with the unit would be a faulty control board 8206448 as it supplies the power to the lights when turned on. Read More...
Shirley August 26, 2013 for Model Number Whirlpool Microwave MH1150XMBO In trying to replace the under cabinet cooktop light in my WHirlpool Microwave, I broke the bulb only the bulb came out. The base is stuck in the housing. I have used needle nose pliers, etc., trying to remove the remainder of the bulb. Nothing works. I have order the bulb housing and bulb from your representative, but don't know how to get the housing out of the microwave. Can you help???
1 Answer Hello Shirley, Try using a carrot and cut it off where it goes into the bulb base and it will unscrew it. However, if not, to replace the base, you need to remove the base off the microwave to access and replace the holder on the unit. You will remove the screws securing the base to do this. Read More...
Manuel D. April 02, 2012 for Model Number MH1150XMQ-O The light bulb broke in the light socket and when trying to get the metal screw part of the light bulb out, I thought the electricity was off, however it was still plugged in when I stuck some needle nose pliers in the socket to remove it and it sparked and when place new bulb in it would not work. would this mean I shorted out the switch? and should I replace the switch? Everything else on the microwave works including the fan. Please advise.
1 Answer Hello Manuel, If the socket was shorted, it probably shot the power supply on the board 8206448. Read More...
