Chale, Remove the kickplate from the unit and there will be 2 screws at the bottom of the housing. Remove these screws and you will also want to pull the unit out and shut off the water. Remove the lower cover to access the valve on the right side. Disconnect the tubing then you can slide the filter housing from the front and disconnect the tubing and reconnect to the new one and push back in place and reconnect all tubing.

Marianne, It actually attaches to the housing of the water filter.Remove the front grill and find the two screws on the bottom portion of the housing and slide it out a little.There is a spot for the spring on the left side and should pop back in.
