This is an inner tub basket intended for use with washing machines and combination washers and dryers. It is located inside the washing machine in the middle of the appliance. The inner tub basket is responsible for holding clothing during a washing cycle. It has an agitator in the middle and sides with holes so that water can leave when the tub is spinning. It is attached to the outer tub, which seals in the water. The inner tub basket can become damaged and cause loud noises, leak, or fail to drain. If this occurs, this component will need to be replaced. Basic tools will be needed for the process. Make sure the washing machine is unplugged for safety. The hoses will need to be removed before taking out the inner tub basket and replacing it with a new one. The inner tub basket is sold on an individual basis. It is an authentic OEM replacement part that is sourced directly from the manufacture. This part is compatible with washing machines and washer/dryer combination appliances made by Inglis, Estate, Admiral, Crosley, Roper, Magic Chef, Amana, KitchenAid, Maytag, Kenmore, and Whirlpool.

Questions & Answers

For Whirlpool Inner Tub (Part Number: OEM15536064)

Rmnypt for Model Number 11026912691

Hello. I tore my washer down today to successfully replace the coupler. While in the process though I decided to do a thorough cleaning on the tub and surrounding pieces so I removed all the necessary parts. After pulling the inner tub out I noticed a significant amount of rust and corrosion on the bottom (under the old style lint filter) and core of the inner spinner basket. The drive block and also on the lower part of the shaft/centerpost (looks to be the tube of the washer tub support) were rusted and corroding as well. Though this is an old washer I'd like to keep it running for as long as possible. Any idea what could be causing the rust and corrosion and what parts I would need to fix the problem? Thanks so much!

Hello rmnypt. You will need to check for a bad seal in the unit. Also, replace any parts that are rusted on the unit. Some parts exposed to the water, will rust in the unit.
