Rmnypt July 30, 2017 for Model Number 11026912691 Hello. I tore my washer down today to successfully replace the coupler. While in the process though I decided to do a thorough cleaning on the tub and surrounding pieces so I removed all the necessary parts. After pulling the inner tub out I noticed a significant amount of rust and corrosion on the bottom (under the old style lint filter) and core of the inner spinner basket. The drive block and also on the lower part of the shaft/centerpost (looks to be the tube of the washer tub support) were rusted and corroding as well. Though this is an old washer I'd like to keep it running for as long as possible. Any idea what could be causing the rust and corrosion and what parts I would need to fix the problem? Thanks so much!
1 Answer Hello rmnypt. You will need to check for a bad seal in the unit. Also, replace any parts that are rusted on the unit. Some parts exposed to the water, will rust in the unit. Read More...
