Noella January 23, 2014 for Model Number whirpool ywed9371yw How do I punch out the holes that are located on the left side of my dryer to install the vent W10470674? Is there a trick? Thanks
1 Answer Noella, There is no special trick to get the knockout out of place for the vent kit. You would just use a hammer and flat blade screwdriver and there are spots where the 2 pieces of metal connect. Just tap out those areas. Read More...

Tim September 08, 2012 for Model Number gew9200lw0 I bought a side exhaust vent kit for my whirlpool dryer(w10470674), and have followed the instructions up to number 5 which calls for me to remove a 3/8 screw from the existing vent. But there is no screw, it appears to be 4 spot welds with no screw. So, now what do I do?
1 Answer Hi Tim. Where the exhaust vent hooks to the blower wheel housing there is a clamp that holds it together with a screw mounting the clamp to the base keeping it tight. Then at the back of the cabinet there is a screw that is right above the vent which mounts the back of the vent to the cabinet holding that end as well. Are you referring to the lower sides of the cabinet that has the 4" dia. Knock outs that need to be punched out the rest of the way? For cabinet rigidity they remain intact until you need to use them with your kit. You will use a punch and hammer along with vise grips to remove the knockout the rest of the way. Make sure to secure the new vent route so it does not rattle during operation. Use met6aql tape on all joints to prevent leaks. Thank you. Read More...

Marilyn D. March 09, 2012 for Model Number W10470674 I purchased a clothes dryer from HHGregg last month that has to be vented to the left and requires Part#W10470674 and no one seems to be able to secure one and your website says that it is not available at this time. Now I have a dryer that I can't use. I would have never purchased it had I known that a part required for installation was not available. I feel like I have been "had". WHAT GIVES? Appliances should not be sold if all the parts are not available for installation!!!!!
1 Answer Marilyn, the exhaust kit W10470674 is our part number W10470674. This part is out of stock. The part can be ordered however, it will be placed on a backorder. Once the order is placed the manufacturer will release an estimated time of arrival for the item to arrive. I do apologize for the inconvenience this is causing. As of right now, we are at the mercy of the manufacture and awaiting stock from their company. Thanks. Read More...
