Shaun December 11, 2023 for Model Number MDB7600AWQ Does this door latch have any adjustment on it to pull the door tighter?
Li R. June 25, 2021 for Model Number MDB6601BT you answer to my question was: Hello Li, You can use a small flat blade screwdriver to pry the connector from the microswitch terminal. This is the way technicians commonly remove the connectors. Be sure to turn the power off to the unit before beginning. Where do I put the screwdriver? can you email me a picture? I'm stumped. And I don't want to break that white plastic part. Are there pins holding the metal prongs in place?
1 Answer Hello Li, You can refer to the video from the following link: https://youtu.be/Hfrra5O-3pE. John removes them by hand but if they do not come off easily, you can pry them off by using leverage against the switch body to the connector. place the small screwdriver under the white connector and pry against the end of the switch to force the connectors off of the microswitch. Li R. June 25, 2021 for Model Number Maytag MDB66601BT I have a new latch kit but when I took out the old part the metal prongs on the old latch will not come out of the white wire plug that goes down into the center of the door. I'm afraid of breaking the white plug trying to pull the prongs out of it. The prongs were starting to bend using needle-nosed pliers. The little rectangle orange door switch broke off the old latch I was pulling so hard. How do I get the prongs out of the white plug?

Fran December 08, 2020 for Model Number MDB7851AWS0 we replaced our door latch assembly thinking that was the issue keeping our dishwasher from starting. Our dishwasher is still not starting. Does the door latch assembly come with new switches? Could you possibly give me an idea what else is going wrong?
1 Answer Hello Fran, yes, the new latch assembly comes with new switches. If the control panel is not lighting up the power into the dishwasher needs to be checked. If the control panel lights up and the wash cycle can be selected but the dishwasher will not start, try pressing the start/cancel pad more then once and check if the drain pump started. Read More...
Todd C October 12, 2020 for Model Number wpw10130695 How do I know what wires go to which side if installing the wires for the first time. Does the white wire always plug into the right side and black on the left?
1 Answer Todd, Which side of the latch assembly, that the wires attach to isn't really as important as the wire attachment locations. The two white wires attach to the terminals on one switch, and the two black wires attach to the terminals of the remaining switch. So both the L1 and Neutral circuits are "broken" when the door is unlatched, and both circuits "close" when the door is closed and latched. Thanks, Read More...
