Rob, According the manufacturer, the lint filter part number for this unit is WP33002970.

I ordered this and it does not fit in my dryer. When I put it in the dryer, the door cannot close all the way. Is there a different lint filter available that will work for model number DG8420 serial no. 328727 DU?

Hello Carrie. WP33002970 is the correct filter. Try cleaning out the filter duct where it installs into the dryer. Lint may be keeping it from going all the way down.
