Roger, If you can find a baseless, 12V 10 W Halogen light bulb, it would work in your oven, just remember, it's a halogen bulb, try not to touch the glass portion with your fingers, or anything else for that matter, Use pair of gloves to install the bulb, moisture, grease oil etc. will cause the bulb to fail, and try not to bang or drop it.

Karen, It can be a bit difficult to access the bulb WP74009925 the oven heat affects the retainers in the housing. 1. Remove power from unit. 2. Open oven door and locate oven light. 3. Grasp lens cover WP74004607 and pull outward on one side to gain access to bulb. ( you may need to use a flatbed tool, putty knife or flat blade screwdriver to carefully pry out the lens) 4. Carefully remove old bulb, by lifting bulb straight out of ceramic base. NOTE: To avoid damaging the new bulb and decreasing life of the bulb, do not touch new bulb with bare hands or fingers. Hi Lorne. As with any electrical device, you will need to work back to the source trying to find a short . A bare wire touching ground (or connection) will cause this. The control board sending a "over voltage" (rarely) but can blow the bulb also. Clock control part # WP74009716. You need to carefully inspect and test the bulb socket assy. part # WP74009970. If the socket is shorted this will happen also. You will get the globe, socket and the bulbnd wires back to the molex connector. This is not to common of issue. Thank You.
